Lamar Odom Already Back to Drinking, What’s Next?

 Lamar Odom

Some people really don’t know how to quit while they’re ahead, do they? Let’s take Lamar Odom, for example. Back in October 2015, he was found unconscious as the Love Ranch brothel in Nevada. He was in a coma for a while and was even placed on life support after suffering several strokes and kidney failure. What caused a previously healthy athlete to end up in such a state? A drug overdose and other poor life choices, of course!

A lot of people expected him to die and many consider his recovery to be somewhat of a miracle. He and his wife, Khloe Kardashian had been on the brink of divorce before the incident and those plans have been put on hold. Instead, she has stood by him as he regains his strength but there was one major condition – he would stay away from drugs and alcohol. Considering what happened, that makes sense, right?

Imagine everyone’s surprise when Odom was spotted drinking hard liquor at a Los Angeles mall this past weekend (who drinks at a mall anyway?).  While his friends shopped at the Beverly Center on Mother’s Day, the 36-year-old NBA champ sipped on cognac. The worst part is that he had been spotted there earlier in the week also.

It didn’t take long for his estranged wife to tweet a vaguely pointed message. Not long after the photos started circulating, she wrote: “Hummmmmm… People disappoint.”

One source has been quoted with stating the obvious: Lamar “should not be consuming any alcohol right now, and was told that by his medical team.” They went on to add: “One thing is so clear — Khloe would never get back with Lamar unless she knew 100 percent that he was maintaining his sobriety. So him drinking again is a huge slap in her face.”

It’s also a huge slap in the face of the second chance at life he’s been given. People make mistakes, that’s a given, but it’s up to the individual to learn from them and make changes. It looks like Lamar Odom is willing to risk his life to repeat the same destructive cycle.
